Tummy Tuck (ABDOMINOPLASTY)
An abdominoplasty is designed to remove skin and fat to produce a thinner, firmer, more attractive abdomen. The incision is individualized to each patient and depends on choice of swimsuit and undergarments. In general, it is a gentle horizontal curve just above the pubic bone. The belly button is usually relocated because of the skin that is removed. Underlying muscle and fascia are tightened during the operation.
PERTINENT INFORMATION:
* Anesthesia - general
* Setting - outpatient or overnight
* Recovery - return to normal activities in 1 month
* Scars - usually heal very well with time
